Ugress

Ugress is one of several projects from norwegian producer, composer and remixer Gisle Martens Meyer from Bergen. The music is built upon a massive bed of samples, loops and sounds, aswell as recorded with live musicians - everything from complete symphonic orchestras to bandoneon to vocalists.

The Music

Ugress dives into a groovy, spooky and cinematic landscape of weird samples, loops and sounds. Strong rythms carries soundscapes and melodies forth. The sources of sampling include easy listening records of the 60ies, unknown and well known classic funktracks of the 70ies, computer games, television commercials and the oldest aswell as latest sci-fi b-movie. The compelling groove of a breakbeat (or two, or three) is, of course, always present.

What I like about tv series "Grey's anatomy"

Grey's anatomy was Dona's recommendation:) And it is a good show. I love it 'cause I laugh a lot, I love the characters, their stories, the way they love each other..and I love it..I don't know which one is my favorite, I like Meredith, but I can't say I hate "the ex-wife". I like the team. The way the say "seriously?!", the way they support each other. Every episode is a new story, just like in our life! Funny isn't it?

PALME D'OR: "4 MONTHS, 3 WEEKS, AND 2 DAYS" BY CRISTIAN MUNGIU

Jane Fonda awarded the Palme d'Or of this 60th Cannes Festival to Cristian Mungiu for 4 Months, 3 Weeks, and 2 Days.
During the closing Ceremony, Cristian Mungui declared: “It seems like a fairy tale. One year ago we didn’t have any idea about this project and some six months ago, we didn’t have any money to make it and finally, we were just hoping to be in Cannes in any kind of competition. So I just want to thank very much the Jury and I want to thank very much the people from the Festival for allowing us into Competition to start with, because it really made all the difference for us. The kind of attention that we got here all along the Festival, this story that we believe in so much, is going to reach lots of people now. I also hope that this award that I’m getting now is going to be of good use for small filmmakers in small countries everywhere, because it looks like you don’t necessarily need a big budget and a lot of stars to have your story heard.”
At the press conference for the winners, Cristian Mungiu talked about what this means to Romanian filmmakers: “I honestly think this is just about the best event that happened to a wave of Romanian cinema that manifested itself in the last years already. I’m very happy to thank my colleagues, Romanian filmmakers. Without their successes in the past years, I couldn’t have been here. (…) This really gives us a sort of confidence. Ursula 1000 la Club Live Music

Cora Gramos zice ca ea nu vrea la "Tuci-tuci". Adica la muzica house unde nu simti decat bass in coaste si in creier. La Ursula nu a fost numai tuci-tuci. Dreamrec s-a ocupat de super proiectii, lumea nu foarte multa, dar placuta. Muzica buna, Ursula foarte bun. Si buna Tequila! Am dansat si ne-am dezinfectat gurile amortite cu licoarea minunata, apoi am luat-o la pas catre un taxi. La Arhitectura se sparsese balul bobocilor sau absolventilor. Tema balului : bal mascat. Atasat fotografii sugestive:)) Colegul ParSenie era piratat de la cizma pana la palarie. Seara de sambata inceputa cu salata si vin rosh la Caru' cu bere s-a inchieat minunat intr-un pat mare, acasa, cu geamul deschis si cu gandurile ratacite in abur de alcool. Viata este minunata la 20 de ani.

In deschidere Nighloosers. Dragut. Apoi Shukar. "Romanii imputiti" au dansat si s-au bucurat de felul in care Dj Vasile i-a facut pe "neste" domni vedete cu pretentii..
Apoi Gogol Bordello. Foarte frumos cantat si frumos public.Lumea pe care o stiu din Fire-ul de pe vremea tineretii, din Vama tineretii, din locuri diverse. Am revazut oameni pe care nu ii cunosc, dar ii stiu totusi. Parca timpul s-a oprit in loc.
Despre cantare: un spectacol de divertisment interesat, muzica cum spusei ok, lume dansanda, un pic de goliciune barbateasca datorata caldurii si niste plete in vant pe la nostralgici, fete dragute - din alea pitice, care si daca au 30 de ani arata tot ca la 14, cu blugisori si tenesei:)) Am vazut si cateva "pisi", cu poshetica, cu palarie/jobenel, par intins cu placa, maieuas de la Zara - colectia noua si pantalonei "schinii" nu blugi! Balerini, conversi, sandale, multa bere. Pipiul! Pipiul a fost un cosmar. Rusine toi-toi..sa trimita numai 4 ecologice la atata puhoi de lume?! Noroc cu amplasarea organului pishicios masculin..stateau si se prelingeau baietii "la gard" de iti "ierea" mai mare dragul sa le vezi spatele. In rest frumos. Lume buna, cum zisei. Dupa 5 ani in care Dna. D m-a carat cu ea la lansari si mi-a aratat sau sugerat subtil care este diferenta intre jurnalisti si fripturisti am mai tinut minte numai cateva nume si cateva fetze. Alea placute:) Ma dor talpile de la sarit pe loc, ma dor palmele de la batut din dansele. Berea buna si rece, am servit cu moderatie caci tiu la permisul de conducere. Dar! Am dansat mai mult si mi-a placut mai mult la Depeche Mode, de unde intelegem ca aia este cumva generatia mea. Acesti domni care au prestat au fost ok si ar fi fost si mai ok daca nu faceau comentarii legate de afirmatia lui Basescu, caci doar eram la antren si divertisment, nu la inca o revulutie. Ah! Si am uitat sa mentionez! Mie mi-a placut basistul, ala mai maronel. Cred ca am ceva cu basistii.
Avem si poza si video. Nokia N90 este o super scula de device sau gadget sau ce o fi el, caci face mult mai multe decat imi imaginam. Sa ne traisca..iasca..iasca..Bahtalo!o!o!o!
Maine reviu cu gandul de dupa somn. Care va fi altul, mai bun. Poate maine o sa va sugerez sa purtati "purple". Tuturor.

Grbavica - the land of my dreams

Single mother Esma lives with her 12-year-old daughter Sara in Sarajevo’s Grbavica neighborhood, where life is still being reconstructed after the 1990s Yugoslav wars.Unable to make ends meet with the meager government aid she receives, Esma takes a job as a cocktail waitress in a nightclub. Working all night is difficult for Esma physically and it also forces her to reluctantly spend less time with her daughter. Still haunted by violent events in her past, Esma attends group therapy sessions at the local Women’s Center. In addition to relying on her best friend Sabina, Esma also finds a kindred spirit in Pelda, a compassionate male co-worker from the nightclub.Feisty tomboy Sara begins to put soccer aside as she develops a close friendship with classmate Samir. The two sensitive young teenagers feel a strong bond because both lost their fathers in the war. But Samir is surprised to hear Sara doesn’t know the details of her father’s noble death.Sara’s father becomes an issue when she requires the certificate proving he died a shaheed so that she can receive a discount for an upcoming school trip. Esma claims acquiring the certificate is difficult since his body has yet to be found. Meanwhile, Esma searches desperately to borrow money to pay for Sara’s trip.Confused Sara becomes violently upset when some classmates tease her for not being on the list of martyrs’ children. Realizing her mother has paid full price for the school trip, Sara aggressively demands the truth. Esma breaks down and brutally explains how the girl was conceived through rape in a POW camp. As painful as their confrontation is, it is Esma’s first real step toward overcoming her deep trauma. Despite Sara’s hurt, there is still an opening for a renewed relationship between mother and daughter.

Asa mi-a spus Ina cand mi-a dat cartea Ludmilei Patlanjoglu. Am citit cartea si da, m-am regasit acolo. Apoi am cautat sa aflu cat mai multe despre aceasta minunata actrita..pentru ca habar nu aveam.
"Poate ca sunt oameni tineri care nici macar n-au auzit de actrita Clody Bertola, retrasa de pe scena in anii '80, dar adevarul este ca lumea scenei - lumea in general, la urma urmei - are nevoie de legende pentru a putea merge mai departe. Iar Clody Bertola este una dintre aceste legende, hranita atat din talentul cu care a fost daruita pentru scena, cat si din fascinatia cu totul speciala pe care o starnea barbatilor din viata ei. Actrita si femeie, Clody Bertola si-a traversat epoca plina de un calm imperial, construindu-si o viata si o cariera exemplara. In cartea dedicata ei (La vie en rose - Humanitas, 1997) criticul de teatru Ludmila Patlanjoglu a strans cuvintele entuziaste ale multor reprezentanti ai lumii artistice romanesti, acei norocosi care au cunoscut-o si au lucrat alaturi de ea: "Cea mai mare actrita cu care am avut fericirea sa lucrez vreodata" (Liviu Ciulei), "Fecioara exemplara, intruchipare scolaresc-exemplara - de cumintenie, spiritualitate si puritate - iat-o peste ani, scandalizand Bucurestiul burghez si mitocanesc prin libertinajul ei" (Lucian Pintilie), "Fata asta e ca o cruce pe care sa o porti pe piept" (Emil Cioran), "O regina a contrastelor" (Emil Botta), "O feminitate iesita din comun" (Victor Rebengiuc) - iata numai cateva dintre declaratiile incluse aici. Aniversarea celebrei actrite, care implineste 90 de ani pe 12 august, va fi marcata si de Televiziunea Romana, prin difuzarea, asta-seara de la ora 23.30, a unui recital Clody Bertola, realizat in 1971, in regia lui Liviu Ciulei (reluat marti, de la ora 0.10 pe TVR International), iar maine, de la ora 23.30, cu inregistrarea spectacolului Cei din urma de Maxim Gorki (in regia lui Radu Penciulescu, 1972), avand-o in rolul principal. Nu numai cei care ii sunt in preajma sau au cunoscut-o la un moment dat ar trebui sa-i trimita un gand cu acest prilej, ci si toti acei care, aflati in cautarea unui model, s-ar dovedi inspirati sa-l gaseasca in Clody Bertola."

Ma simt bine cand cunosc oameni care dau mai departe de le place lor..Ma bucur. Imi plac retelele si chestiile care conecteaza oameni cu oameni, locurile unde poti sa cauti si sa descoperi alti si alti oameni. Am gasit o persoana care are aceleasi gusturi musicale ca si mine. Compatibilitate SUPER. Are 22 de ani si e din Australia. Ei bine iata..ma potrivesc cu o fetita de 22 de ani:)) Saptamana asta desigur. Pentru ca saptamana viitoare ma voi potrivi cu altcineva.

Cu sau fara Tudor Giurgiu, un ultima vreme am vazut numai filme bune la tvr1 si 2. Noaptea tarziu= filme bune. Am vazut Basquiat. Mi-a placut.. si l-am regasit pe Warhol. Bowie face un rol excelent..Trista poveste a avut Basquiat. filmul este de vazut oricum:)

Mie imi plac nuvelele lui Cartarescu. Si mi-a placut si De ce iubim femeile. Dar foarte tare mi-a placut Ruletistul. Si apoi Rem. Si Gemenii..si Mendebilul..tot Visul lui imi place.

Cartarescu scrie din suflet, scrie despre lumi pe care noi le stim, scrie despre oameni care locuiesc pe Stefan cel Mare, despre aventuri pe care le-am trait si noi in picimea noastra. Cartarescu scrie si bucura cu cele scrise. Nu am citit nici Orbitor, nici Enciclopedia Zmeilor..Dar ce am citit m-a bucurat. Maimutzele se hotarara sa prinda un tragempinge pentru doctorul Aumadoare. Dadura fuga in adancul padurii si gasira locul unde se adapostea tragempinge. el le zari si o rupse la fuga, dar maimutzele il prinsera de coarne si-i graira asa:

- Draga Tragempinge! Nu vrei sa pleci cu doctorul Aumadoare departe-departe si sa locuiesti in casa lui cu celelalte animale? Acolo o sa te simti bine si n-o sa duci lipsa de nimic.

Tragempinge clatina din amandoua capetele si grai din amandoua gurile deodata:

- Nu!

- Doctorul e un om bun, zisera maimutzele. O sa iti dea sa mananci turta dulce facuta cu miere, iar daca te-mbolnavesti, o sa te vindece de toate bolile.

- Mi-e tot una! grai Tragempinge. Eu vreau sa raman aici.

Trei zile-n sir maimutzele se caznira sa-l induplece si, in sfarsit, Tragempinge zise:

- Aratati-mi-l si mie pe doctorul asta mult laudat. Vreau sa vad cum arata.

Maimultele in condusera pe Tragempinge la casuta unde statea Aumadoare si batura la usa.

- Intra, zise Kika.

Cici, plina de mandrie, aduce in odaie animalul cel cu doua capete.

-Ce-i asta? intraba doctorul cu uimire.

El nu mai vazuse niciodata asemenea minunatie.

-El e Tragempinge, raspunse Cici. Vrea sa faceti cunostinta. Tragempinge este animalul cel mai neobisnuit din padurile africane. Ia-l pe corabie si primeste-l sa stea in casa ta.

-Dar o sa vrea el sa mearga cu mine?

-O sa merg bucuros, zise pe neasteptate Tragempinge. Mi-am dat seama numaidecat ca esti un om bun: ai ochii atat de blanzi! Animalele te iubesc si eu stiu ca si tu iubesti animalele. Dar, te rog sa imi fagaduiesti ca, de-o sa mi se ruasca la tine, o sa ma lasi sa ma intorc acasa.

-Negresit ca o sa te las, spuse doctorul. Dar la mine o sa te simti atat de grozav, incat nu cred c-o sa mai vrei sa pleci.

- Asa e, asa e! E adevarat! striga Cici. Doctorul nostru e atat de vesel si de cutezator! In casa lui traim nestingheriti!Iar in vecini, la doi pasi de el stau Tania si Vania. Ei o sa te indrageasca tare mult, o sa vezi, o sa-ti fie cei mai buni prieteni.

-Daca-i asa, ma invoiesc!rosti Tragempinge voios, inclinandu-si in fata doctorului cand un cap, cand celalat."

Buratinno

Buratinno e un fel de adaptare a lui Pinocchio in povestea lui Alexei Tolstoi - Buratinno si cheita de aur. Am gasit cartea in biblioteca si demult am vazut si o ecranizare:) Ruseasca, minunata din 1975. Ce filme bune faceau rusii, nu mai vb de cartile de la Editura Raduga, cu copertile lor groase si lucioase. Scumpe. 35 de lei o carte nene! Mi-am cumparat toate cartile pe care mi le-am dorit cand eram mica, de la anticariat de la Metrou Universitate. Andisme zicea "sechele din copilarie fata!". Cu cateva zeci de mii de lei vechi am in biblioteca tot ce mi-am dorit si nu aveam cand eram mica, dar le aveau vecinele mele, Roscata de Andreea mai ales! Si Lili si Giani!

O minunatie de poveste despre care voi reveni cu amanunte si cateva desene scanate cu grija din carte.

Killing me softly

O poveste despre pasiuni nebune, un thriller erotic ar zice unii. Cu sex si un pic de sado, genul de relatie pe care nu o ai acasa cu sotia, ci o ai la hotel sau in secret cu amanta. Daca nu aparea "criminala" filmul ar fi continuat cu sex si matasuri. Daca nu se casatoreau era si mai bine, pentru ca pasiunile interzise au ceva picant si bun:))

Oricum e de vazut daca va e dor de fluturii din stomac si adrenalina de pe vremea cand aveati relatii interzise sau "nepotrivite".

The Prestige

Filmul de vineri noaptea s-a dovedit o minunatie. De ceva vreme statea cuminte in laptop, in micul folder cu minuni.Este o poveste despre rivalitatea dintre doi magicieni care impart scenele Londrei si pe Scarlet Johansson. Este un film despre orgolii si magie, despre iubire si tradare, trucuri nedescoperite si masinarii care "teleporteaza". De vazut.

Ne place Hugh Jackman. Sweet!

This is a twisted story about sex, drugs, and college. Three disturbed students at Camden college get involved in a love triangle. Sean Bateman (brother of American Psycho's Patrick Bateman) is a womanizing drug dealer who falls in love with virginal Lauren (not to be confused with her slutty roommate Lara,) because he inspects that she is his secret admirer, who is leaving notes in his box. Everybody is only looking out for themselves, which insures that nothing good can come from this. One knows this because the end of the story is the first scene, and the rest of the movie serves to show how Lauren, Paul, and Sean wind up miserable at "The End of the World Party

Aventurile lui Habarnam si ale prietenilor sai

Ei bine iata ca mi-am luat inima in dinti. Acesta carte este un fel de Biblie a gastii Thassos. Anul trecut inainte de vacanta ma gandeam: ce as putea sa iau cu mine si sa dea picele pe spate definitiv?! Picele au 5-6 ani, sunt din alea cochete, cu papucei Barbie si cu posetele de blanita, astea cochetele ce naibii povesti vor sa auza? De la Doctorul Au-Ma-Doare pana la Talismanul de safir, am cautat si mi-am stors creierii..Nimic nu se "pupa" cu personalitatea micilor vedete. Asa ca in egoismul celor 29 de ani mi-am zis: O sa le citesc ce imi place mie! Doar nu imi citesc ele mie! Si am avut de ales intre Trei Grasani (pe care o iubesc definitiv si irevocabil!forever!) si Aventurile lui Habarnam si ale prietenilor sai.

Aceasta alegere este probabil una dintre cele mai bune pe care le-am luat in viata. In urma lecturarii povestii, s-au ales nume! Dan a devenit Piulita, Maria clar Surubel = cei doi prieteni nedespartiti, nevasta lui Dan este Mama lui Piulita, Anca este Ochi albastrii - prichinduta cu plasturele!! Nu am cuvinte sa povestesc ce am iscat. Cercetand pe net am constatat ca mai sunt si altii ca mine! Desi mama imi spune ca nu mai este nimeni..Si cativa barbati la fel au crezut:))

Pai da! caci mai am o multime de carti vechi..Si am si Mary Poppins - si mi-a placut si filmul, insa cele doua carti sunt minunate.

Vitea Maleev la scoala si acasa

Azi noapte in timp ce ma fofilam de la invatatura despre managementul calitatii, m-am intins pe burta in pat, coborand periculor spre margine, catre biblioteca veche de la ai mei din camera - unde vietuiesc in lipsa lor:)
Si sub niste carti vechi statea pitit Vitea Maleev. O carte scrisa de N. Nosov, un rus. Super carte pentru copii. O carte cu desenache foarte frumoase si cu o mica rugaminte la final: "Daca v-au placut aveturile lui Vitea Maleev precum si desenele ce le ilustrau va rugam sa ne scrieti la Editura tineretului (..si adresa..).Va multumim"
Ce frumos, nu?
Vitea Maleev nu era un copil oarecare, ci un vasnic pionier rus, mare inventator! Vitea Maleev umbla telelu ca mine cand eram vasnic pionier(a)..Vitea Maleev e cool. Aduc sa scanam din carte sa va bucurati si voi de desenache.

In februarie 2006 am facut un spot cu un tanar regizor belgian Jean Paul. Care a venit cu un laptopel mic si alb si plin de minuni. Si ne-am facut noi doi liste cu cine ce filme sa vada, si mi-a povestit de Gaspar Noé, si eu il cunosteam de la un festival, si vai ce ne-am mai bucurat si imprietenit. Si a zis el: nu vrei sa iti dau si eu tie niste muzica? Si asa a inceput totul. Cum orele treceau hardul meu se imbogatea cu mii de piese. Trupe de care nu auzisem niciodata, etc, etc.

Filmul Piratilor din Caraibe - primul caci urmatoarele nu am vrut sa le mai vad, este filmul unei mari prietenii si unei mari iubiri. Nu avem comentarii despre acest film pentru ca orice comentariu este de prisos - "Must see".
(Acest film a dus la semnarea unui pact, remember?)

Cartile pe care nu le terminam niciodata. Nici nu le incepem.Sau ne saturam de ele.

Exista carti de care te apuci caci iti sunt recomandate. si iti plac pret de cateva pagini. apoi "recomandacul" te intreaba si te preseaza si zice: deci?! cum ti se pare??tare nu??

si tu iti zici: futu-i, nu pot sa trec de pagina 251 si asta ma intreaba ce parere am.

Pai, deci, ca sa zic asa..sunt carti pe care nu le pot termina si pace. Nu mai intra. Am ajuns la "jumatea" lui Midnight children si s-a rupt filmul. Am lasat cartea pe un colt de etajera si acolo a ramas pana in zilele noastre, daca nu cumva, in imbecilitatea mea am deja recomandat-o si imprumutat-o cine stie cui.

Piticul mi-a placut..tot asa. Pret de jumate. Desi este o carte subtirica a existat un moment in care mi-am zis ca nu mai vreau sa stiu ce face acel pitic rau.

Hesse - nu am putut nici sa deschid jocul cu margele de sticla. Carte noua, cu miros de cerneluri si lipici. Este pusa la loc de cinste, undeva in biblioteca.

Kundera. Pai da, dupa ce a trecut trendul de a citi Kundera nici nu imi mai vine sa pun mana pe vre'o carte. Citea toata Alma Kundera si era foarte cool sa vorbesti despre cartile lui. Si mai ales era cool sa intrebi: "Cum?? Nu ai citit INCA? Puah!"

Ei bine, nu. Nu am citit. Inca.

Nu am citit Marc Levy. Nu am avut si nici nu am vrut sa dau banii pe ceva care mi s-a parut (no offence) cam siropel. Parca mi-am imaginat doamnele in metrou cu lacrima in coltul ochiului citit "Te voi revedea" sau pana ne-om revedea..sau cum ii zice.

Dar! Am citit Coelho. Deci, am fost in trend cand "ierea" trendul! Ha!

Ba chiar am tradus 99% din La Raul Piedra Am Sezut Si Am Plans. Si pana sa mai traduc eu 1% au publicat-o astia si mi-au infranat bucuria de a fi tradus eu insami o foarte frumoasa poveste de amor si despre credinta. Insa pentru mine a fost minunat. Mi-a placut Coelho ca citea Serban si mi-a dat si mie Veronika isi doreste sa moara. Apoi mi-a dat Alchimistul , apoi a adus din Anglia noutatea cu raul Piedra. Si apoi am primit 11 minute de la Andi, inainte de a pleca in Franta, ca sa am motive de lacrimat si taiat vene.

Apoi am mai citit inca ceva si nu am mai putut sa citesc caci murea trendul si omul nu se mai oprea din scris. Si scria si venea si il intervieva lumea..si gata.
